Black Springs Ride

Nice Ride Pic

Easy to Intermediate

Your motorcycle adventure through Amador, Calaveras, Stanislaus counties, and  the surrounding areas  this is an incredible journey with a mix of history, culture, and outdoor exploration. Here's a summary of the key highlights:

1. **Jackson:**

   - Founded soon after the gold discovery at Coloma, Jackson has a vibrant history shaped by gold, girls, gambling, and government for over 160 years.

   - The area was initially inhabited by generations of Miwok Native Americans, with a creek and adjacent spring providing essential accommodations.

   - The gold rush attracted native Californios of Spanish-Mexican descent, as well as soldiers and sailors who deserted to seek their fortunes along the Mokelumne River.

   - Today's downtown offers a charming mix of historic Civil War-era storefronts and 20th-century architecture.

   - Visitors can explore antiques, art galleries, a steampunk bookstore, fine jewelry, fun eateries, and enjoy wines from Amador County.

2. **Murphys:**

   - A small gold-rush era town with historic architecture, boutiques, restaurants, and wineries/tasting rooms.

   - Murphys is described as quaint compared to Wine Country, with tasting rooms lining Main Street.

   - Murphys Grade Road hosts several wineries like Chatom Winery, Coppermine, and Ayrial Vieux, known for limited production and artisan wines.

3. **Black Springs OHV Area:**

   - Located on the Calaveras Ranger District, this area offers an extensive network of over 100 miles of connecting roads and trails.

   - Suitable for riders of all levels, the OHV area promises enjoyable riding and picturesque views of meadows.
