Dog Town, the site of the first gold rush on the eastern slope of the Sierra Nevada, invites us to explore its rugged charm and witness the remnants of a bygone era. The tales of gold nuggets and the boom-and-bust cycles of Dog Town will transport us back to the excitement and challenges faced by the early miners.

Our journey will unfold the history of this once-booming town, revealing the allure that drew settlers seeking their fortunes during the Gold Rush.

As we venture into Mariposa County, the northern side welcomes us with a rugged Old West charm that promises a genuine and off-the-beaten-path experience. The story continues along the Tuolumne River, where French Settlers established the community of French Bar in 1850. Witness the resilience of this community as they relocated after the destructive floods, renaming the town La Grange. As the county seat of Stanislaus County from 1856 to 1862, La Grange prospered as a mining and agricultural hub. Despite losing the county seat to Knights Ferry in 1860, La Grange endured, becoming a center of hydraulic mining and later gold dredging, leaving behind the legacy of some of the largest dredges ever built.Join us on this one-of-a-kind adventure that not only explores the breathtaking landscapes of Mariposa, and Stanislaus counties but also delves into the rich history and stories of these Gold Rush towns.
